It has to be a small dog since apartment only allows small dogs, what are some good suggestions?

Pomeranian, Jack Russell Terrier. Those are some of the common small ones people usually get. Can also check this site for other small dog breeds and see which one you like best. http://www.dogchannel.com/dog-breeds/breed_special_1.aspx

There pretty good dogs for the most part. They can be barkers but that's for most small breeds. They seem to be extremely easy to potty train. They seem to be really playful even there oldest one that is about 13 or so years old still plays. And not sure if it's with all poms but all of ours seem to play catch so it's pretty easy to teach them that lol. They usually come in 2 different sizes, Tea cup which is small poms and the normal size when is a bit bigger then the tea cup size. Which the tea cup ones are alot more spendy. You can usually find them now days for under $300.

Oh I see. Are they pretty playful and loyal? I'd be worried about losing a teacup one though.
