we have a giant cage she was crying for most of the night barely got any sleep
but she finally peed outside n pooped once outside
its like taking care of a human baby
Ahh i should mention. I've gotten an XL crate for my rottie and my GSD/rottie and you have to use the divider and just give enough space accordingly. Giving them too much room is viewed as you spoiling your little one.
Keep her near you when you sleep, and progressively distance her crate from your bed over time. Have her crate open when you're around with her. Praise and or reward her whenever she goes in saying '' Bed '' along with your praise ^^
Then over time you'll want to praise reward her for not bitching. Then do this with her locked up. From here on, i would say to just increase the time you are away with her etc etc. 5-10 sec. 15-25, 30-40, 1 minute, 1.5 min etc etc you have to be consistent. her not barking for 5-10 doesn't mean to go straight ahead to 15-25. Do it for 3-5 times, if she doesn't bark, or cry then it's safe to say you can advance to the next stage. ^^
What i did was this. Example
day 1, 5-10, 15-25, 30-40 once i reach this point, it's pretty much the point where Hero will start barking.
Day 2, 15-25, 30-40, still the same
Day 3, 30-40
Day 4 30-40, 1 min, 1.5 min
day 5 1 min etc.
hope this helps..
Doing this early will prevent separation anxiety. My pup Ares developed this as i didnt know much about it. I spoiled him and left his cage near my bed. When i lie down it's a cue that it's nap/sleep time so go to bed.
