my kitten nala just got spayed today.

she has been unresponsive and doesnt move since we picked her up. she isnt sleeping. just laying there with a blank stare on her face.
she flinches when someone comes into the room but nothing more than that.
im worried about her. when i came to the clinic to pick her up at 4 the nurse said that she was thin, but dont they give them the anesthesia according to there weight? or do you think they could have over-dosed her?

please any tips or past experiences would help id really appreciate it...

I got my dog spayed in Houston. She was groggy for a day then the next day she layed there kinda. Then after about 3 days she was better. I hope your kitty recovers soon.

I think this is a common symptom after cats are spayed. Keep an eye out though, as anything is possible, however the vet should be able to give you an answer if you call and tell them whats going on.
In a few days she should start getting better!

GL to you and your cute kitten!

i would call the clinic asap, i don't take chances though.... a phone call will not hurt, better to have and not need than need and not have.

Lissy, Most Animal's the first few days after their procedure will just relax and lay around doing nothing. After a few days you will see Nala moving around and getting back to her kitten self :D

I would take her back to the vet depending on how long she's been like that. The spay may have gone wrong and there might be some internal problems. How's her temperature? <she should feel a little warm but not overheating, cats temps are higher than ours, i think 101 or so>

Also has she been grooming herself at all? If not, I would take her in asap, cats that don't groom themselves are the ones that have generally given up.
