Did you add anything to your tank recently? wood? gravel ? also what are you feeding your fish?

It may be when you took out water that all the debris in the gravel (or whatever you use for the bottom) mixed in with the water. If you feed your fish any food that has a reddish hew than this may be your problem.

2 things to try.

1. vacuum the bottom of your tank.
2. get some clear water drops from the pet supply.

If neither of those help I would contact a local fish store and tell them about your problem they may have a further solution for you.

Also what products did you use?

Do you buy tank plans that produce algae? That can have a huge effect.
