If I had to guess I would bet you dont have ankle biters like my wife. Those little basterds are yappy and hard not to abuse, but I do resist and have never miss treated them. I do agree that dogs show emotion and therefor have a semihuman characteristic so I believe abusin' one is like hurting kids. The ones we have bark at everything from the wind to birds so its almost a guarenteed headache everytime.
