Hey i have a dachshund with a chihuahua mix and it looks the same as the picture

Its 35 years old in dog years and 5 in human years

So this is the problem im worried about

I know this is normal for the dog but it keeps burrowing his nose into a blanked or pillow whenever it goes to rest or sleep
But sometimes it looks like its gonna suffocate its self and im wondering would he back away if that would to happen?

(i do not abuse the dog just for your information)

My mother told me I use to do the same thing when I was an infant and almost suffocated myself to death on several occasions.

It's generally physically impossible to suffocate yourself unless something is keeping you help against your will and you can't move your face. It's like trying to drown yourself, eventually the body will try to save itself as a matter of reflex. I don't think you need to worry about your dog suffocating himself in a blanket. Remember, they're nostrils are not only much bigger than yours, but they have slits on the side that they can take in air through as well. However, if you're truly worried about it, maybe you can just take away thick blankets and pillows.

FYI, saying you aren't abusing your dog when you haven't said anything that gives even an inkling of thought in that direction in the first place is like waving a big red flag that says "I try to suffocate my dog". =)
