The microchip that has their information and can be scanned.

I saw on Ripley's Believe it or Not
A dog owner finally found her dog after 7-9 years (forgot exact number) since the dog was chipped and was found and scanned.

Do you have any of your pets chipped?
If not, will you eventually? Or are you against it for any reason at all?

Nope. Seems cruel to me, and I don't have a heart.

That seems like a good idea to track your pet. We haven't done that b/c we can't afford it. I would if I could.

That late in the game the dog was almost at the end of it's life. Fail chips!
Anyway, my cat is chipped but it wasn't done by my choice. I adopted and she was already chipped when I got her. Not that I plan on letting her out anytime soon.

You should be able to go to your local vet to do this. I thought about it when i get my next dog but i probably won't seeing as i don't live in the city and the dogs usually stay in the yard.

It is good to chip your pets if there is even a remote chance of them escaping. The chip is not able to track the pet however. A vet, humane society, or animal control will have to scan the pet to check if it has a chip. If a chip is found the only information given is the tracking number and the contact info for the agency which handles the chip information.

I dont chip my dogs because if they get out and kill something/someone , I don't want it coming back on me...lol Sad but true, I can't afford a $250,000 lawsuit because of the breed of my dog.

it cost like $40 lol

it is an injection with a needle, hardly different than getting a vaccine or a blood draw, there is nothing inhumane about it.
there is no reason not to have your pet chipped
