Ok so I am sitting at my computer I hear a noise look over and a bat is flying at my head

I ran into my bedroom and closed the door, not terrififed of bats, but it shocked the shit out of me

I looked aorund for about 2 hours and couldnt find it, so I finally pack up all my stuff to go sleep in my bedroom, I move my window fan and come back out for the rest i notice where my window fan was there is a small bat, so i try to move him but he is biting at everything, so i finally get gloves and a wash cloth, throw the wash cloth over him he keeps squeeking and biting, i placed him in a lizard fish tank, at first he was laying there looking like he was going to have a heart attack laying there still, breathing very heavy, then he freaked out a little and ran into glass, I dont want to let him go cause Im afraid he wont make it on his own

He now went under the wash cloth for hiding and is very calm

What should I do with him, I dont have money to take him somewhere that will charge me

Also what can I put in there for food for tonight until I can take him somewhere tomorrow

I live in NJ

this is a picture

also during the hurricane I had a leak in my apt, they had to remove sheet rock from ceiling and let it dry out, I assume he was living in there somewhere.. Where do I look in my apt to find if there are more, havent seen any signs or anything and the whole is covered now

2 options sadly put it down or release it tis cheaper to release it then put it down tho most likely they will call a 3rd party animal control to have it taken care of till healthy then released

3 big issues to consider

1 its wild

2 they can carry rabies

3 their poop carries other diseases

:\

well it says on the link you gave me

It is illegal for anyone, including animal control
officers and exterminators, to kill bats.

so maybe they wont... do you know alot about brown bats?
