What are your thoughts of cats? I feel like they would be really boring to have. They don't really have a personality. So why would someone get a cat rather then a dog?

I disagree on them being boring.
They are really fun imo.
They love attention and like to jump on you and love being petted.
After awhile they just do their own thing and wander around (which is what some people like since I've heard of people complaining about cats jumping on their keyboards/etc)

Cats are just cuter and funner than dogs imo.
Plus, if they are extra cute, you can turn them into a meme cat

Cats are good if you don't have a lot of room. They DO have a personality, but not like dog's who are always trying to please you and getting up your butt all the time. They're more independent than dogs and require a bit more in the way of intelligent socialization.

Honestly, though, and I mean no offense here, but it sounds like you probably aren't quite ready to take ownership of a pet yet. Do some research before considering a cat or dog. You can also PM me if you'd like.

it depends on what cat you get. i prefer cats over dogs, because every dog i've come into contact with jumped on me/bit me/slobbered on me

imo realistically saying a cat doesn't have a personality is just like saying a dog doesn't...cats and dogs have very different personalities, as dogs are generally more hyper and loud. Cats can be just as playful as a dog, it's just a matter of luck of the draw or having it grow up to like you a lot. If you happen to get a very friendly cat imo it makes an amazing pet..i love how they just arch their back and rub against your leg and stuff..plus they tend to be better lap pets...great gaming animals as they can sit on your lap and not be annoying and expect you to pet them the whole time...

this might make me come across as a disliker of dogs..but i really like them as well..if permitted by my financial situation, and my housing situation, i intend to have a dog, 2 cats, and a flemmish giant rabbit when i am out of college...would be a sweet pet combo =)
