I find that vets really rip you off... So many shots, etc :S

I mean dogs lived for so long back in the day when they had no shots and all those special treatments. I don't get it.

Well the dog population is insanely larger now, which means more dogs are susceptible to diseases/ailments that they were before and they are in more frequent contact with other dogs, causing a chain reaction.

My dog is never with other dogs. He's probably one of the most loving dogs I've ever seen, but not with other animals :( . Nonetheless, the dogs back then ate meat and only meat and lived for a very long time... (Army dogs especially)

actually they didn't live long at all. and they ate whatever they could get, not primarily meat. dogs are omnivores, not carnivores.

they also never traveled, there were no imports/exports, people didn't travel, and most illnesses went undetected and untreated.
very much the same as it is with humans and vaccinations/medications
