How do i get my cat to get along with my dog?

My cat is pretty old, active.. We had it since he was a baby.

Dog is a yellow lab 9 weeks.

When ever dog wants to play the cat hits him..

i need help i want them to play together and know eachother as house buddys

He is probably to old and doesnt wanna be messed with only thing I can think of

Get a baby or pet fence... place it in between two rooms and put the pup in one room, the kittay in another. Let em interact through the fence and smell each other and stuff.

OP: You can't make them get along. Old cats don't want to be bothered by a lil pup all the time.

yea man dont know what to say, we have an older cat, younger one and a dog, the dog and younger cat just fuck with the old one, who gets super pissed haha

Crush sleeping or drowsy meds in their food and they will sleep together with no problem!!!
Or duct tape the cat to the dog until they have no choice but to get along with each other
