My dog doesn't like other dogs. In fact, he hates every single animal :( ...

He was like that since he's a puppy. He's extremely territorial and hates dogs and especially cats.

Any of you had this issue :o ?

My dog has never liked cats, when he was younger he loved all dogs (loved to play and such) but as he got older, he stopped liking other dogs as well, he's 9 years old so I guess he's just getting old :P Even so though he still tolerates dogs, and will actually be happy around them if they are nice too, but cats... yeah never liked them, never will ^^

I think this is more of an issue with you.
I don't wish to be harsh but I've seen many animals adapt after proper training.
Though I could be wrong its quite possible he/she is just anti social.

So I guess the question is how have you been dealing with this issue or have you been turning a blind eye to it?

I took him to dog parks almost everyday trying to make him play, but he would just sit next to me and won't move. I would try and make him run and bring other dogs to him, he would just stay alerted and won't move :s...

(This was when he was younger)

Now if I take him to a dog park he will just fight with every other dog

My older dog, he hasn't cared in many years.
My younger dog, he'll get all kinds of friendly with other dogs.
Except my neighbors dog, they will growl bark and gnash their teeth at each other through the fence.
Up until they both end up cut up on the fence.
My younger one has a scar under his nose where he pressed against the slats on the wooden fence so hard that it pierced the skin.
Once they get close to each other, they try to mount each other.
They'll butt heads literally, try to knock each other over. Biut the growling and barking stops.
They're both brown, so I think the similiar looks is what does it for them.
If one has a toy, and they run up the fence, there's no growling or barking, just constant running.
I've taken them both on walks together and they get along fine. But once that fence is between them. Oh boy.

Both dogs will lick a cat to death if they corner it. I once found my neighbors cat up on the pole teasing my older dog. So he hopped up and hit the fence, the cat fell on our side, He cornered her instantly and just soaked her from paw to tail with saliva. That cat was groaning like crazy.
My younger dog will lick the cat, then keep trying to lift it with his nose.

Have you considered actual dog training?
He will be able to socialize in a smaller environment with less distractions and you can get instant feed back on his actions.
Also the trainer should pick up on varies things he does and help you with alternatives.

If its not in your budget I can understand and as a favor to you I will be more then willing to talk to the trainer I've worked with
on some things to try to help aid you with this challenge.

Just give me some more details and a few days to contact her.

He's already 5 years old an pretty settled, I don't think he's going to change... He's a VERY stubborn dog. I know you might say you can always change him, but this dog is just way too spoiled...

I think I'm going to have to live with it or try and bring him in contact with dogs slowly slowly until he gets used to them. He's extremely friendly with people. He loves everyone :)

That's really weird xD

If my dog sees a cat he wants to tear its head off. He DESPISES cats. When I walk him and he sees a cat I need a towing truck to pull him from running at it :o!

Is your dog trained to use a create?

If so you can use that at the house and bring over a friends dog little by little.
Maybe offer him treats while the dogs there to make him not focus on the other animal.

Try to get a young / smaller dog to come over as well I guess they don't feel threatened as much and usually work out best in the beginning.
oh make sure its not a yappy one though..

If he sees a dog at my house, it's game over for that dog.

I'm gonna try and get him close to my friend's dog, they are both extremely chill. I'll just put a muzzle on him :o

Try to allow him to approach the other dog though and not vise versa.

Good luck thoguh on how that works out and let me know your progress I'm curious to see how he reacts.
