Im thinking of buying a glo fish tank setup since they're legal in california now... How many glo fishes should i have (20gallon tank)
I wanna get the proper led lighting etc also

I imagine with a small peaceful fish like that you can follow the 1 inch per gallon rule and just get twenty glofish.

I don't like them. I bought a few in the past and they died pretty quickly. I think the glo process weakens their constitution.

If you do buy a bunch of them, I would either overbuy and expect some losses, or not be surprised when several are dead on day two. I would definitely wait until they were on sale, and buy from a place with a 1-2 week return policy.

And you can't do the 1-gallon-per-inch with all fish...you can't put an Oscar in a 12 gallon tank But with these guys they're okay.

The stores will be used to this but they still might have clerks that ask what happened to the fish. If they do, say "they're glofish".

They're definitely pretty, and you might have a few growing pains until you get a good, healthy stock...we all do
