My favorite dogs are

German Shepherds - Great at herding, but even better as a protection dog(Or Guardian). In my opinion they are far superior to Boxers and Rotweilers in that category.

Labs and Pointers - I like the lab as a companion, and then temed up with pointers for hunting.

Beauceron - My mom always had them, they are very smart and actually work well as protection dogs. They are fairly stubborn though so they take more persistence in training.

It's between Rottweiler and Doberman.

I like pretty much all dogs, but we've always had German Shepherds, so I have a soft spot for them.

more of a cat person, but i love German Shepherds, since my grandparents used to have one when i was a kid

terrier, just becouse I have Jackrussel's terrier and he is very energetic even with the old age+cancer (he is 13 years old and had cancer at least 4 years now, and he still likes to play with me!)
