Wont let me edit my previous post...

I just keep Rhacodactylus species of gecko right now I had a breeding colony of crested geckos but I sold them for a breeding pair of gargoyle geckos and im gonna wait till may for the reptile expo and hopefully pick up a chahoua gecko or 2.

Reason I like the rhac species is:
1. They live at room temperature (no lights what so ever)
2. Crazy active at night and really handleable
3. They dont need a huge tank, most breeders keep them in tubs
4. Easy to breed
5. They dont need insects in thier diet they eat rapashy, its a powder you add water to (its fun to watch them hunt the crickets though)

I could go on forever about these guys and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a starter reptile.

Very cool man you definitely know you shit! I might start off getting a ball python, I had a water snake that I caught in Utah when I was younger he was really awesome... had him for a long time. Not sure how to go about getting one though, I don't think I want to go to a "pet store" but I'm not sure if it's safe buying them online? I was told a reptile convention is like the best way to go about getting exotic animals.

conventions are fun and can be a great way to get some animals. just depends on your budget. many of mine have been purcahsed at the Pomona, CA and san diego shows.

I've had quite a few snakes since I was little. A couple ball pythons which are great for a first snake, amazing temperment. Also had a colombian red tail boa and an albino burmese python which was almost 12' and 80-90 lbs. Pretty sure the only snake that ever bit someone was the red tail, bit my mom once but nothing major, can't remember why either, that was a long time ago.
