For a large dog breed, Ive seen smaller dogs live up to 20 years of age. Yorkys can live this long and they do age very nicely. but as for larger dog breeds yes 14 years is a full life for these guys. But i say your dog should live for as long as it can without suffering too much. Some people imo keep there pets alive too long, (past there natural time to die) your pet will die someday, and to them, they really dont mind much. but if there healthy and happy!, long live your dog!

a dogs life span varies on the breed but an average is 8-15 years old. if your dog is 17 and healthy and has had a very good long life and thats all down to being a good owner congrads.
