mine LOVES people.  he often grazes in the early morning hours and evenings when its cooler, but as soon as someone walks into the yard, he just follows you around.  as funny as it sounds, ill take a  pressured  hose to the backside of his shell and he just starts shakin his ass.  its the funniest thing.
will eat from your hand and gets along with 3 dogs (actually, he minds his business, they mind theirs), but if hes walking somewhere, he pays no mind to who (people or dogs) is in his path.  you move or get pushed.

lol nice! Mine is still a tad shy, once you stay around long enough he will come to terms and approach you.
Mine is a mover as well, once he starts he will keep going until he reaches where he wants to go. Can pet the top
of his head, he doesn't care for the dogs though. But I take no chance and keep the dogs in a separate run.

About the size of an average cereal bowl. From what I've read they get to be about 70-100 pounds and live for decades.

the buddy of mine who breeds them keeps his enclosed, but ive a half acre lot and a fenced back yard. he has an enclosure for the colder months, but around this time of year, we just let him wander around the backyard in and out of his shelter as he pleases. the only time we've had a problem with him burrowing was when a wildfire's smoke had reach our area and it must have just been instinct. the hole he dug must have gone 6ft under ground and took him only about an hour to dig. since his enclosure has been built though, we havent had another incident.
