ALL dogs will do that if they're not properly exercised

if you plan to get one, get a bike or learn to run :P

dont forget, huskies are bread for cold climates. if you live in a warmer climate like me (north carolina) you may have to limit outdoor walks and keep A/C lower than normal. (in my case, its not that it gets way too hot here, but humidity is horrible)

as for establishing an "alpha male" role, huskies are similar (though not identical) to the malamute, where if someone breaks into your house with a gun, pistol whips you over the head, your dog is more likely to go with the rober than protect you because the rober is establishing more of an alpha male role over you. though ive never had a rober break into my house not had an indoor malamute

nah, once a huskey establishes the alpha male, it doesnt change within moments, it takes weeks, even months to become that dominant person in the dog's life

i wouldnt reccommend them for a guard dog either way, because if they can't intimidate, they will probably kill a person intruding, and it's cause for being put down, EVEN IF it's an intruder

Hmm, wont let me edit my previous post..

To the OP:

If you are serious about discovering if a 'husky' is the right breed for you, the first place to start is by educating yourself.
I will tell you right now that the term husky is a broad based term applying to multiple breeds and can be offensive to responsible breeders of those breeds.
Some common 'huskies' are: Siberian Husky, Alaskan Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and more. Husky is a term that describes any of the northern breeds with prick ears, even wolf-hybrids are labeled as huskies.

I would recommend visiting the parent site for the breed you are interested in, they tend to have good information about the breed, what you can expect, and where to find a reputable breeder.
Most commonly when people refer to a husky they are talking about a Siberian.
Here is the parent club for the Siberian Husky: www.shca.org

The American Kennel Club (AKC) has a parent club directory on their website if you are searching for a different breed.
The AKC's site is also a good resource to use when considering adding a dog to your life: www.akc.org

Any questions, feel free to contact me.

first off. no one gives a fuck what you think. secondly this isn't a "post hard data about dogs section". if we wanted to do that we'd visit http://www.akc.org/breeds/rescue.cfm or similar websites.

this is a post pictures of your pets and talk about them.

i don't think you know what the fuck you are talking about since you never even addressed his question. you talked about different breeds. seriously gtfo and stay out.

also instead of having to post two places that pug you posted up is by far the ugliest animal i've ever seen in my entire life.

actually i did answer the OP's question

and yes, that pug was by far the ugliest thing I have ever seen, doesn't mean he didn't need a good home though. He was happy.

if people are posting here asking if they should get a certain kind of dog then obviously this is more than a post your stupid pet pics forum
/e thats what the photo gallery is for
