i've had cockatiels my whole life, usually up to 4 at a time


couple flew away, one died of old age after 23 human years(wow)

another one died of old age at 13 human years

my mom stepped on my favorite one


she was a gray like spike

except she walked everywhere, like a dog

she'd wait for me to come home from school every day at my door and just chirp and jump and etc when i got home


but mom didnt see her one day and dead

damn 23 year old bird? isn't that a bit longe rthan normal expectancy?

not unusual for them to live 20 years, but 23 was OLD


and yeah we've stopped all the other birds from being dogs with wings from then on though



these birds' intelligence rivals parrots,

and i prefer them because they do the same things, AND they can't detach a finger while training them

well that deters me wanting a parrot

lol they CAN but it's rare i have little kids out and about my house most the time so it's a worry for me, because birds bite alot during training
