You should post pics :)

Pancake is pretty smart when it comes to drinking. There is multiple ways to get your beardie to drink a easy way is give them a bath (I know it sounds stupid but they love it and it helps keep them hydrated)
usually after a while your beardie will realize that they are in water and that they can drink from it. Usually you will have to drop some water drops on the tip of there snout (mouth) and usually they will start "licking" and drink the water from whatever you are using to drop on their mouth and usually (some beardies don't) they will put their mouth in the water and drink from there.

Also when you give them their salads with all their greens in it you can put water on the bottom of the bowl and they can drink from there when they eat/ after they eat.

be carefully that it doesn't contain sugar :) that can put your beardie in shock and possibly kill them.

ya sand is very bad for bearded dragons, people thinks it their natural substrate but really its just really compacted dirt (solid ground) any loose substrate like sand, wood chips or anything like that can cause impaction and that will kill you bearded dragon.

great pics by the way :D

looks so young in the first few pics.
