A dog is only as good as the owner trains him to be.
A dog will do anything to make his owner happy
A dog will rip your arm off and hand it to his owner if that is what makes the owner happy
A dog will protect you with his life because he loves you
Notwithstanding the above, it is absolutely CRITICAL that YOU, the dog's master, are the Alpha, otherwise, the dog will automatically assume that position - especially with dogs like Pit Bulls, Amstaffs. German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans, and other inherently dominant dogs.
Any dog/child interaction has to be supervised at all times, because accidents can, and will happen,
and the dog, no matter what the breed, will be the one to suffer the consequences
Anyone who disparages dogs in any way shape or form is walking on the snarly side of me.
