that is ur problem right there, kittens are driven by play time and attention, they need constant affection or they will find fun where they can.... really, your best option might be to get a Cat as well as your kitten... a 1+ year old cat copes faster and learns quicker and is more independent. The kitten will LOVE having a play time friend, and the older cat will keep him in check if he starts a fit.

You MUST remember this is a general statement, just like people, cats each have there own personalty. This idea of kittens is just something I've learned over time.

My cat loves to eat plastic, not just chew like alot of cats but FULLY eat the whole thing till she pukes it up. I've tried every thing, from spraying her, to treats when she avoids it, bitter apple (a taste spray that is extremely bitter, most animals hate it), to even bating at her (not hitting here just moving her away fast so she is surprised) Honestly the only thing that works, is keep plastic hidden.... she is 13 now and to this day we say she uses her 'plastic radar' to 'hunt' and 'forage' for the all mighty and tasty PLASTIC. So some things can't be avoided sadly.

I the years i worked at an animal hospital i learned alot of tricks to teach things to pets, but some cats are just stubborn.
Alot of cats have satisfaction chewing on certain material.

Best of luck

Thanks for the advice.
My thoughts on adopting another cat is that if they don't get along, what am i gonna do then?

I've got a kitten who's less than a yr old that likes to gnaw through phone chargers, window fan wires, laptop cords, etc.

How can i fix this?

Also, my kitten always tips over his water bowl an soils my rugs. Rather likes to drink straight from the bathroom tub faucet (have to turn it on a lil so he can drink)

Suggestions?

Hey man, my cat did this too with the water at least. He would accompany me to the bathroom when he was thirsty, one less thing to worry about.

Yeah, i leave the water on a lil bit so he can drink from the tub. He won't use the sink either.

over 75% of cats a an instinct to hate other cats (due to territory, food, attention, or w/e)
but try to introduce them and if they 'don't get along' don't worry they will.
IF they end up HATEING each other, i would suggest keeping them in separate rooms, but feed them at the same time and put the food bowls on either side of the door, the will start to associate the smell of food and feeding time with the smell of the other cat. This works almost every time. Might take 2 weeks tops, but with all the girl friends that i dated and most had cats, i was able to get them to like each other using this method but it isnt needed(only if they are fighting alot or getting 'more disdructive') then you may have to do this. This trick seems to take 8-14 days to work.

as far as the water habit goes, i forgot to mention in my previous post but there are cat water dishes that RUN WATER, some cats can be picky about smells food and even water. The devices arn't common and can range in prices (some run on batteries but i would suggest getting one with a wall adapter).
If the little bugger sill isn't happy u may have to let him drink from the tub or in some cases buy bottled water... (I know thats exstream)

All this takes time money and energy... put the effort out you can. It should get better as the kitten learns more.

If you get another cat make sure its young as well, better chances of younger cats getting along then older ones,if they do fight have 2 litter boxs and 2 foods and waters in diffrent rooms while you are not home until they do start to get along.

And the tin foil mite work.bite on some tin foil, that shit fucking hurts
never had that problm tho only other thing i can think of is trying to tape down or conceal what you can with the wires, and unplug the rest.

This is assumeing tho that you have plenty of toys for the cat to play with, string on a stick hanging up somewhere, leave a paper bag out my cats fuck7ng love those and anything that is easy for them to bat around and make tons of noise

there are food and water bowl stands that you can get from local pet stores that hold the bowls so they can't be knocked over! :)

as far as wires go it can be pretty tricky depending on how many wires you have but it's still possible to prevent wire damage! :D

for the stable wires in your house you can get wire covers that wrap around the chords! i would find a place to use your phone charger that is in a place where your kitty can't get to it! ;) (even if you need to put it in a room closed off from your cat)

here is an example of the food and water stand! :santa:
