Lions have a hierarchy but it's not the same structure as canine packs and house cats are neither lion nor canine. When do you ever see conglomerations of stray cats following their alpha stray around? Small felines are typically individualistic animals, they care for their young until they are old enough to do so themselves and then they all become singular units.
I get what youre saying but yes, with my indoor-outdoor cat there is a definite hierarchy. The local strays deal with my kitten cause my dog chases all of them away but kitten gets to stay so he has a bigger seat and the other strays respect that kitten has my dog and I with him. Ive seen my cat outside with some strays and Jessie runs out and chases them away but kitten chills out and stretches, and it earns him brownie points in the cat world.
If you dont think there is a hierarchy with local strays youre crazy.
