actually pibulls were bred to be nannies ( babysitters ) they were to protect the baby while the parents were off foraging

e/ also you get a few types of pitbulls, The American pitbull is the 1 with a bad rep because of the bad owners, The breed itself is great.

'Today’s pit bull is a descendant of the original English bull-baiting dog—a dog that was bred to bite and hold bulls, bears and other large animals around the face and head. When baiting large animals was outlawed in the 1800s, people turned instead to fighting their dogs against each other. These larger, slower bull-baiting dogs were crossed with smaller, quicker terriers to produce a more agile and athletic dog for fighting other dogs.'

Yuppp, sounds like a nanny to me.

For most of the 114 years since the American pitbull terrier was first recognized by the United Kennel Club, the breed was rightly seen as the perfect “nanny dog” for children because of its friendly nature, loyalty and stability. As the ASPCA notes, the pitbulls were “once considered especially non-aggressive to people.”

I have found both, The comment from EmericAn is from the ASPCA website but unfortunately i dont know any reputable websites to show my nanny bit :)

Wikipedia says they are seeing eye dogs so i dont see why being a babysitter is impossible.

e/ Id like to believe it is true,

You have to train them young and give them a LOT of regular exercise. A tired pitbull is a happy pitbull.
Start consistent training, break the bad habits and then form new good habits. Dogs are a byproduct of consistency.

yall just believe anything you read dont you

ANY dog can act aggressively towards other dogs if they are not socialized with dogs and animals in their youth. if they arent accustomed to seeing other new animals all the time, seeing one starts to arouse or excite the mind, and that can take the form of either fearfulness or dominance, both of which can result in a bite if escalated too much. if you want your dog to meet another dog, its a good idea to tire him out first so he doesnt have as much energy to devote to being in that escalated mental state. it also involves teaching him how to behave (alone or with others). certain behaviours are unacceptable in society and he will learn what to do/what not to do if you know how to show him in a way that he can understand
