she has a deficiency in her diet most likely. at thate age, she may not be digesting food properly or absorbing the needed nutrients enough. Id change her diet. idk what you use as food, but go to a feed store (usually for farm animals) and youll find some more natural wholesome food for your dog, and id try a bag of that.

I asked the man about your issue. Cesar Millan

There are two approaches to stopping the behavior. The most common approach is to use either Adolph's meat tenderizer or a product called "For-bid". These products are supposed to give the stool a bitter flavor when eaten. In my experience, these products are only successful some of the time. Another approach that may work better is to find the stool in the yard and cover it with a hot sauce, such as Habanero sauce, that will be uncomfortable to eat but cause no real damage. After a bite or two, most dogs will decide it isn't worth it.

I wish i could have a picture of you putting tabasco on dog poop

Made me laugh and snort just thinking of doing that. My dog eats her shit every once in a while. I yell at her with a very deep tone every time she even goes to sniff her shit then i yell at her to get in her cage. All dogs will learn through persistence. Don't be lazy and stick to it, don't give up. Don't let a dog get the best of you. She especially likes eating horse shit which unfortunately there's an over abundance of it living on 6 acres of land with 3 horses. Just stay on top of her/him.

How about you clean up after your dog so there's nothing for it to eat

Well, I have a couple questions for you.

explain how you house broke her.
If you didn't and she came that way have you ever attempted to let her go potty on-leash?
What brand/type of food do you feed her?

Reason why I asked if she is trained to go potty on-leash. Or if you've ever experimented with it.
Some dogs find vulnerability in different situations. For example eating/drinking/potty.
It sounds weird to a human but one must remember dogs aren't humans. They don't think like we do.
It might sound annoying but some dog owners have to walk their dog to go potty every time. Or they don't do it/they eat the stool.
If she still goes for the stool while on leash, a LIGHT collar correction or if you have a no reward marker(eh-eh) saying she picks up on would do the trick.
But training a dog isn't done in one day, and even a "trained" dog isn't ever "fully trained".

Edit - I wouldn't suggest being forceful towards her or "walking out every time she goes to eat her stool and smacking her/acting aggressive"
Due to that if it is anxiety driven it could make the problem worse...

But the awesome things about dogs is they live in the moment.

My dog did this the other night. Left her outside on the run for a few hours since it was nice outside, came back in, slept for maybe a hour then woke up, went into her cage and puked up her poop. It was the most vile smell I think I've ever smelled. I actually dry heaved and she even tried to eat her poop puke! I was so pissed. I cleaned it up though and the only thing I can think of doing is watch her when she does go poop and pick it up. Dogs will get over Tabasco sauce if they want to eat their own shit bad enough. They can be stubborn dickheads sometimes. When you let her out just clean up after her best you can.

My dog decided to un-potty train herself. She started shitting and pissing inside the house again. So I did what I used to do when I potty trained her, put her nose in it, let her go outside, let her have the chance to go potty outside, praise her for going outside then put her ass in her cage until she whines. No dog will shit in their cage. The only time I ever saw my dog shit in her cage was when she was a few weeks old, she backed her ass up to the side of the cage and pooped outside the cage. You could do the same thing when you catch her eating her shit, shove her nose in it and say "No eat" or stick with one saying that doesn't sound like any other saying you have for her if you know what I mean.
