Do more research on the breed. Whatever breed it is. Buy from a reputable breeder, not a petstore. Or adopt. Maybe check out a Husky forum. Goodluck

It also depends on where you live, because they don't tolerate the warm weather too good as I heard.

Siberian Huskys are a high maintenance dog breed, and the cost is dependan on where you live. High maintenance as in you have to take this dog on walks or hikes or just out and about a lot. like 2 times a day AT LEAST otherwise it will grow disobedient and hyper, troubled and a  nuisance just like people complain about. IE dogs tearing up furniture/barking/etc/etc

gl in your adventures.

make sure to treat the dog like its your own kid. NN to send it back to adoption center

they're terrible in the heat. If your average summer temperature is anything 70+ F, it's too much without proper care.

Had to care for a husky puppy left outside overnight in virginia when I was a vet tech, ~5 weeks old and had a seizure from the heat. Was temporarily blind while we were taking care of her (adopted her out to a proper home after we seized her from the owner)

They're bred to be working dogs, so they're extremely energetic and need LOTS of exercise to be happy (along with strict discipline, they will try to dominate you to be the alpha). On top of that there's the pelt maintenance, which is on the high end because of the double layer pelt they have.

imo: do more research and possibly reconsider what breed you want.

some breeds that are easy first time dogs: german shepherds, golden retrievers, all types of labradors

edit:
also take into consideration that huskies tend to have alot of health issues.

from hip displasia, eye defects, and a high rate of deafness. generally they live fairly short lives

Most is true other than huskies living fairly short lives; the average life span of a husky is actually 12-15 years.
