throw the ball back and forth

not a very good breed to play fetch with. my dog will chase it but wont bring it back. if i lived near a greyhound track i would go and he would chase the rabbit but they just like the chase.

we get some snow but doesnt last long, usuallyturns to iceor melts and get icey winds.

i have a trip comin up to go to inverness with the dogs so goin for a little hike. he gets about a 10 mile walk a day so a good walk.

i know they love the snow, when we get snow its impossible to get him in from the back garden, he wants to play / sleep in the snow.

they don't mind ice either but for a longer walk you might have to get some of those paw bags they use in competitive sledding
(have they reverted to imperial measure in scotland? or did you want to say 15km?)

has really nothing to do with the breed, it just depends on the dog
our previous dog loved playing fetch and found every tennis ball around
while our current dog (very close breed) never liked playing fetch

i always just say miles instead of km, dno if anyone else here does.

i took him for a nice long walk around a big moore, i usually let him off lead at the beach sinces hardly any scents to follow but i was surprised how obediant he was at the moores, a few roads are nearby so was a bit nervous and my little westy followed him everywhere as usual. incase the word moores is only used here it like a mountain without a hill and more tree's and grass.

you could try setting up a weight sled for him, it's great exercise and perfect for a working breed like a husky

just get a harness and an old wagon, toss some stones or something heavy but stable in it. rig the dog to it then stand a few feet away (~3-5 for training purposes I'd assume) and call him to you with an incentive.

start light with the weight but build it up so it's a challenge he'll enjoy
