dont get a lab or golden retriever, they're hunting dogs and will probably not suit well with cats or other animals

I have a black lab and it was trained as a hunting dog and it don't bother the cats or chickens one bit So it's all based on how the dog is trained.

German Shep's have a tendency of there hips/back legs going out. And husky's have a habit of digging alot also, which could cause a sprained ankle. Friend of mine parent's breed Siberian Husky's and i use to have one when i was a kid and they all seem to dig.

have a few requirements that me and my fiance are looking for in a dog.
good with children, getting married soon and plan on having kids within 2 years or so.
good with other animals, hoping to have at least 1 cat and 2 dogs.
large breed, fiance has always liked the saint bernards and mastiffs
don't need a purebreed

from what i have read saint bernards and mastiffs would both be pretty good choices, but i honestly can't see myself paying $1,500 for a dog.
i know about vet bills and stuff, have a 9 year old lab that lives on my parents farm, which brings up my other question

the lab has always lived outdoors on my parents farm, i have been in college the past few years and never been able to bring him with, although i do go back to my parents pretty frequently, i would really like to take him with when i get a house, but i am not sure if i should being he has been roaming free on the farm for so long and he would probably end up indoors or in a fenced in back yard

One thing about blue nose pit's and most pit's they can easily turn on there owner and i wouldn't have a pit if you have young children cause they like to play rough.

this is easily the worst piece of information ive seen on the internet...

i have 2 labs and had a golden for 13 years (passed recently). All friendliest animals in a big house full of other animals (lots of cats) and kids.

Thats a very interesting outlook on pittys thats for sure lol

only way i could see a dog attacking its owner is if the owner beat the dog and didnt feed it

Friend of mine had a black lab that killed one of our rabbits. It's a very friendly dog though.
