I want one so bad, they are extremely cute and I've heard they are loyal
However I also heard they shed a lot.

Is this true?
Is there anything that can help prevent it? ( I.e brush them )
I would not want to shave it.

Yes its true

No it can't be prevented unless you live in an ice cold house.

Prepare to clean up the furs left over.

There cute yes, but they can get fat. Kinda funny looking when its hard for them to role over XD

you should not get a husky unless you live in a rural area or at least have a big property. Those dogs need space, it's not good to keep them cooped up in a house.

Loyal? Yes. But, if you don't keep it active, it will destroy every, and anything in sight. They are made to work and if idiled out for too long, they cause trouble :D

The more you bath the dog, then brush the dog, the less the hair folicols will die and fall out. Therefore- less shedding

wont matter how much you brush em. they'll shed. and they aren't very loyal. they are snobby dogs but beautiful to look at.

there's gonna be a range of personalities. however i've owned several breeds including a full bred siberian and it's far from my favorite.

st. bernards hold a special place in my heart.

the hair is a little irritating lol because when I pet my husky I end up with hair on my hands but he's not snobby at all! he's a total momma's boy lol and loves the attention ^_^ he does run a lot but that's why we take him to a dog park and let him loose quite often and watch him run for like an hour and then we go home. we have a little itty bitty toy poodle in the house that is less that a foot long and half a foot tall and he gets along with her just fine. he even got along with my cats when i had then they were the ones that didn't like him and would hiss and try to attack. but he's a great dog lol. he gets a little overexcited and tends to jump and scares little kids but that's just because he wants to play. he's now almost 3 years old I believe and sttill acts like a puppy soemtimes ^_^

that's why he was snobby to me lol. it was my parents dog.

they paid like a grand for this dog (lucas). while we had him as a pup my parents found a rhodesian ridgeback (buddy) wandering the streets and adopted him. when we fed the dogs, buddy would eat that food the second it hit the grand, this was 10 years after we found him. however lucas would look at it, walk away and have my mom bring him the food to him, where HE wanted to eat. then he'd wait till buddy was done eating and make buddy watch him eat it slow.

we also took them both to the mountains (we lived in southern cali at the time). lucas sat in the car the whole time and HATED the snow. buddy loved it and had the time of his life. plus lucas always just walked around like a fucking snob haha.

at any rate it was more because my parents bought him as a pup and pampered him more than the breed. but still i have no desire to own another one.

You could ask Tech_tdk about it. He's my friend in rl and his parents breed Siberian huskeys. He seems to know quite a bit about em an would be glad to help. > link to his profile http://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?i=373180
