My friend had a chinchilla when she was younger. It always escaped and would run around the house and get into weird ass places. It also pooped everywhere. It was cute but I wouldn't recommend it.

Get a reptile. Bearded dragons are my favorite but there's lots of other cool ones out there.

K so next year im going to be living in an apartment for 8 months of the year (school) then home for summer for 4 months

during that time i will be coming home for odd weekends (leaving friday night and coming back on sunday) so the animal has to be fine on its own for 1 day (shudnt be a problem with leaving proper food/water out for it and cleaning cage that day)

also do any make for easy travel seeing as how i go home for a week during march break (called reading week)..usually take the train..idk if pets can go on the train (would be using a carry cage tho obv)

lizard, mine don't smell at all and are very low maintenance

Small snakes are fed every 5 days, most snakes every 7-10, snakes feeding on large pray items (rabbits, pigs, etc.) 1ce every 2 weeks or more. Some will go off food during breeding season and won't eat for months, and a healthy adult snake can go over a year without eating.
