tha AKC has been deliberating for a long time about expanding their group listing as well, due to too many breeds in a group (for dog shows) and some breeds that do not fit in their respective groups.

if you are looking for the best grouping you have to go to the FCI: http://www.fci.be/home.asp?lang=en
they have 10 groups (that's why i didn't put their grouping up) and plenty subgroups in most of them
but you are right the AKC 'working dog' group (et al) is a bit of a mess

Jasmine- 3 year old Vizsla... best dog ever!

btw. she uses "Just for dogs - A Touch of grey" fades away grey hairs, but not too much! shows you know what your talking about, but can still do it also!
and a SLIGHT overbite (not really but this picture makes it look like she does)
