Depends on the dog, I had one on my doberman and it didn't bother me, I wouldn't put it on a small dog tho.

I nulled vote because I dont care if people use them and dont abuse them. I mean choke chains are meant to help train the dog to control himself while walking so they are good in that way, but there are people that yank their pets around while they have choke collars on and thats just wrong.

the choke chain you have in the pic is violent, but a slip collar is a good idea for training those retards

If you get the proper size choke chain it only startles the dog. You as a trainer must also keep the chain loose unless making a correction. It comes down to making sure the person using it correctly. I am okay with choke chains that are used properly, though most people do not use them right.
