rofl! that's extremely strange, cats NEVER use the bathroom where they sleep,

I know, I've had cats in my house since I was a baby and they are usually sooo clean and just know to use the liter box- not sure what was wrong with this one? He lives at my moms still and is just an outside cat except to eat.

putting it down is NOT the same as killing it, usually pets that act like that have gone through a lot, and it's cheaper for the city, to get it put down, than to get it cleaned then put in a pound, JUST to get it put down after a week of no adoption, it was the right choice

Where does the city have anything to do with what he posted? He didn't say anything about taking it to the pound, or trying to find a new home.

His sister picked up a stray, didn't know how to take care of it, evidently neither did anyone else in the family. Instead of learning and educating themselves or trying to get help, they put the animal down. In my eyes, you might as well have pulled the trigger yourself.

People like that give real pet owners a bad image.

If I had a gun I would have killed it myself. It bit my 2 year old cousin in the face after being at our house for a week.
My mother taking it to the vet to euthanize it was a hell of a lot more than that beast deserved.

the dog is a biter, with fleas

it shows signs of anxiety, and he was obviously extremely unhealthy

once a dog bites, he is always going to be on watch, and yes, if you looked hard enough you COULD find a home, but realistically, it's not going to happen, it's extremely rare you find a home that can take care of fleas and emotional problems, of a stray

not to mention vaccinations and often checkups on it simply because it's a stray

i know i wouldnt want my beloved pets to have to suffer in a case like that

so the only logical options were to

1. admit it to a pound

2. put it down

one costs the city thousands of dollars

the other cost a few out of pocket, and you ensure that the animal suffers no more

I used to have a Cannery...During the summer when the family was chilling on the deck they would bring the bird cage out so he could get some sun n shit. Someone forgot to bring him back. I'm sound asleep in the basement and my dog ( the jack russell, in my thread) wakes up, sprints upstairs and barks like a fucking lunatic. I go upstairs and i see a family of 5 MASSIVE raccoons eating my dogs' food...I was like "Lol, cute" and started thowing them some grapes n shit. I then realized the bird cage, and 1 raccoon sniffing around and it naturally freaked out the bird so it starts flying around the cage...I start panicig cuz the raccoons all gang up on the cage trying to reach the bird...I grab i super long metal rod ( Something for curtains or w/e) and whack the raccoons on the head, but they wouldn't leave..And i sure as hell wasn't going to open the door and get hte cage cuz 5 25lb raccoons with 3'' claws and rabbies ain't my cup of tea. So i did everything i could but they ended up pinning the bird inside the cage and like basically killed it instantly. Then they just left cuz there was no more food left (They didn't even eat the bird...)

:'( that's sad, you need to get a small BB gun if you live near raccoons, they can REALLY injure your dog as well

well... i must say my roommate's dog was an artist. and by artist, i mean he pooped on the walls, and ONLY the walls. i will reply with pictures!
This dog's name was Kane (after the wrestler) and he caught Parvo as a puppy (my roommate had never (and still do this day) had never taken him to a vet) therefore he was a little challenged mentally.
When ever you put his hand out to pet him he bit it (not hard) and didn't stop, ever!.
i can never say i had any pet "put down" and i never will. if anything i will give them up for adoption.
