my cat has been telling me something is not right with her as animals tend to do. and when I picked her up to check her, her rear end was sensitive. I continued to observe her and she kept cleaning I noticed a bit of greenish puss coming out of either her anus or vagina I couldn't tell which. I looked up online and it said she might have an anal sac gland infection. it said to apply a warm-wet compact, and consult a vet. I am on a fixed income and its the middle of the month so I am flat broke and cant get to a vet. I don't know what to do can someone help me?

edit: now shes crying out in pain in her cat bed I applied the compact but she wasn't happy getting wet

Use a credit card. Go to the vet. You'll have time to pay it off.

Get a job, go to the vet. Don't have animals if you can't afford emergency vet visits.

this.

when i had a kitten last year, i had the money...but i walked half a town to get there in the freezing cold with only a hoody, and then back.
gotta love ur pets.

he only sprained his back legs from a fall, but to see him in agonizing pain walking and limping for the two hours before the vet opened...ya

Consult with an animal shelter first. They may have low-income programs.

I was accepted for a low income program through the animal shelter in town and I ended up paying $40 instead of $250 to have my cat spayed/shots.

Puss generally indicates infection. Anal gland abscesses are an easy fix but left alone can make your cat very sick. I would ask the vet about payment-plan systems they may have in place. The vet where I work would generally charge about ~$400 to repair an abscessed anal gland on a cat, for a ballpark idea - if this is your problem.

my dog had this last year and it was a mess. i would seriously consider a loan for the vet because unlike external infections, internal ones are more dangerous and touchy.

my pup had to be fully cleaned out to remove infection and antibiotics, and wear diapers for drainage and use dog laxatives to help him go to the bathroom cause he was so tender and scared to.

vet asap imo
