looks part terrier

But what does that really tell me? That kind of leaves it wide open don't it? There are a lot of terriers.. Rat-Terrier's Pitt bull terriers etc etc. Lots of different temperaments.

Ha, sometimes at the shelter near me if they can't figure out what a dog is they'll just call it a "mix-breed"

So my friend, you have yourself one hell of a mix-breed there! I'd say adopt it if you want it...he'll probably be really healthy.

He looks like he is going to be thick like an american bully or an english bull dog type stature. He looks like he has some kind of bull terrier in him. They have him classified as medium

Medium sized sounds about right.
I think it will be fairly muscular judging by its picture.

Yup, that's about what I'd guess. Without having any more knowledge than this pic I'd say that there's probably a mix of at least 3 breeds in here, and one of them is most likely pitbull. Despite the bad wrap they've been given by society I'd take that as an enormous positive as they're some of the healthiest, and most loyal dogs you can find.

I found another site with him listed as a pit bull / pekingese. My wife says no to it now since she saw the word pit. Such bs

Truly depressing when people are ignorant just for ignorance's sake. Ironically, if it had been part chow chow there would be an enormously increased propensity for violence (animal and human), but most likely she would have been on board.

My wife came home with a husky mix when we still lived in an apartment ( and she was still my gf) after I told her a billion times that we didn't have enough room for a dog. Well, turns out we kept it and he's the shit...like most dogs.

IMO adopt it anyway, when she's done being pissed she'll love it.

Yea, I want to do it. But I just want to make sure what we get is something she really will love. I feel like she would, but I would hate for her not to give him any attention. We have a 2 year old son together and she is worried about when the dog gets bigger possibly hurting our son. It is just a prime example that those stories of pit bulls really do sway ones beliefs. So much for a pit being a "nanny dog" like the old days (i've read). She wants to go to the animal shelter and see if there are any other puppies. I don't even know if I want to now. I'm upset that a puppy she was perfectly fine with is now out the books and she wont even let it be an option. She will probably wont to get some "cute" super small dog that I'm not interested in. Speaking of a husky... That is the breed she has wanted for a long time she just recently told me. But my close friend and his girlfriend recently got husky pups and I don't want to be accused of being a copy-dog. Plus I'm really liking the idea of adopting.
