We're adopting a Chihuahua later tonight and we don't know what a good grand of dog food is for him.
It needs to be healthy, not TOO expensive, and come in small bites because he is small even for a Chihuahua.
The people who have him now will be giving us some of the food he is on now so we can gradually switch him to the kind we want, so don't worry about that.

Any suggestions?

Maybe purina puppy or dog chow, I use puppy chow for my golden retriever puppy. It isn't to terribly expensive.

Try BARF Feeding - its the most natural way to feed your dog and since you only have a little one it would be pretty cheap.

Science diet has propylene glycol in it... Which is a toxic ingredient used in Antifreeze/coolant. Lots of name brand dog foods do, it's actually super poisonous to dogs. I feed my pup Blue Buffalo.

Same here, and he loves it! Very natural ingredients, however, some vets don't recommend switching right off too it, because it can be too "rich" for them, and can give them diarrhea.
