any suggestions? I've been browsing amazon for a couple hours, just too many mixed reviews every where and I've never purchased new speakers before. I'd like something decent sounding without spending more than 300-400$
I'm considering a new head unit, the door speakers and possibly a small sub in the back. I'm doing this for my girl friend, all of her speakers are blown out and she has complained enough times that I know this would be an excellent surprise.

Any help appreciated. After I pay off this loan my gold will be unlocked and I'll donate to the person that can help me out here.

with a subwoofer your budget is a little tight.

you installing the stuff yourself or paying a shop to do it with part of the budget?

I'd be installing myself, a buddy said he'd help me if I get all of the equipment.
The sub can come last I can acquire more funding in another week or two. For now I wouldn't be opposed to just starting with the door speakers and head unit. I don't want some super cheap shit that's not worth my time or money so I don't mind bumping the budget up a bit.

I don't believe something like that is necessary but then again today's technology is getting more and more affordable so that's the deciding factor in that decision is how affordable something like that would be.

you can get an okay one(no gps nav) for ~$200

door speakers prolly gonna be like $150-ish

so it's within budget. up to you though.

you want to go ahead and get the wiring kit for the subwoofer? if you are for sure getting one at a later time the kits are like $30 for good quality wire and you can wire it up and just pull the fuse and wait for the sub.

I'm for sure getting a small sub. I just want one small one in the trunk to give it that full bodied sound. I'd go ahead and get a wiring kit and get everything done at once. Logical suggestion thank you for the advice.

put in car info and it will auto find the installation stuff you need which is ~$100 just for installation parts assuming i put in the right car info. i didn't know if it was a sedan or wagon or the trim model but i think it won't matter and they were all the same.

thats $324 with installation gear

then http://www.knukonceptz.com/mobile-audio/amp-installation-kits/sp/kca-complete-4-gauge-amplifier-installation-kit-/

if you want to do a big 3 upgrade you can grab some extra wire sold by the foot on that site. http://www.knukonceptz.com/mobile-audio/power-wire/kca-kable/

http://knowledge.sonicelectronix.com/car-audio-and-video/how-to-big-3-upgrade/ explains big 3 upgrade and i recommend it.

if you want to go ahead and discuss subwoofer options give me an idea on a budget and i'll find something.
