Hey guys, so I just purchased a 2015 accord ex L v6.

When I plug in my classic ipod to it, I can only use the
controls from the touch screen on my car. I can't use
my scroll wheel from my ipod like I used to previously.

Is there anyway to fix this? It's a bit annoying because it makes it a pain to change songs now.

aux input instead of usb would fix it.

Will I lose sound quality?

not anything you'll notice.

I did try this and noticed instantly that the sound wasn't as crisp, and bass lacked big time.

Not sure if buying another cable will help, or if I should just buy a ipod usb connector to aux instead.

oh yes there is a huge difference between being plugged via USB vs AUX .. usb is so much better

@OP on my radio i have an IPOD fonction where when I toggle on I can use my ipod to select music .. search the functions on your radio and see


and buying another aux cable wont change the quality, trust me

if its night and day with basic mp3 files then you need to start suspecting your ipod of not carrying its weight.

here is the only difference between the two.

aux=digital signal>analog signal>digital signal>speakers

usb=digit signal throughout.

so if your aux sounds bad it means something isn't doing its job right. yes an aux is worse quality but with mp3 files and basic quality speakers you shouldn't notice it at all.
