Any recommendations? What should I look for? Going to get a new stereo, speakers, and add subs in the trunk. Any concerns or anything I should know about?

the best out there is boss or jensen. they have been around for a very long time, everyone knows them. single voice coil subs . they make prefab boxes that also make your subs sound awesome.

id go with boss speakers and a head unit and amp. jensen subs

Well said... I couldn't agree more.. Although walmart kickers slap pretty good. Those or dual subs in a prefab bandpass box.

Go to a car audio store and listen to all the different speakers they have. Make sure you have them turn on the type of music you listen too. Your personal price range will be what decides what you will be able to get.

Well, there's only like one or two car audio shops around me and I don't like dealing with them due to past experiences. And about my price range, idk nothin over like $550? If that seems fair or reasonable

yeah that should be fine unless you are needing to pay someone for the install out of that budget.

its totally not worth paying someone else though because its not hard its just time consuming. a few youtube videos and common sense and you'll be fine if you have a few hours of free time.

literally the only service you might want to consider from an outside source is amp turning but you can generally play it by ear(assuming you don't have damaged hearing).
