so i bought a used rockford fosgate t500bd and it does nothing. need someone to help me test it. Im an electronic technician so i kinda know what im doing but not keen on amps and testing them

I had this happen to an old school hifonics Brutus amp. It worked when I bought it hooked it up then it didn't work. I opened it up and used electronic cleaning spray and quetips on the inside inside of the amp and it worked.

Seems someone spilt a bottle of coke on it

Also get a multi meter. Test the ground, power, remote and the rca. Check the fuse under the hood, check all connections to the headline and make sure sub woofer is turn on in the headline settings

If that's it and its MOSFET, it should have a small step up transformer inside it....most of the time its fried, especially if its ceramic. Best bet is to hook it up, multi meter your inputs and outputs, look for a broken connection. This is all assuming your wiring is correct, you have the correct gauge wires. Your not overloading the amp trying to push it too hard. The watt rating doesn't mean shit, match up the speaker/amp RMS rating. Did you witness the amp working before you purchased it? If so, and it worked...I would go over your install and check your setup for compatibility. I.e. working amp load to what you're trying to push.
