first off.

jlw1 what version?
dual 4 ohm? dual 2 ohm? etc?

those 2 items are junk, i could get you 1 12 that cost the same as that sub. that will pound 20 times harder.
and that amp is overates. for the same price as that amp. i could find you a better one that will blow it out of the water...

the only good jl sub are the w7's.
but even those are overrated and overpriced for what you can get.


whats your budget and ride your setup is going in?

Budget is flexible. But this is a first timer and I dont really want to go over 800-1k.

ride is a 11 vw golf tdi (hatchback) and it will be in my trunk.

if there is a big difference between say a 800$ system to a 1k$ system, i'd choose the 1k one for the quality. I dont know the 'breakoff' points of price/quality

i would stick to 1500 watts max on your install. your alt is only a 140 i believe.

you can get away with 1500-2000 watts with a new agm under the hood and a spare in the trunk with the big 3 done.

$800-1000 will get you a nice setup that will bump. how big is the trunk area of your car
