got a buddy that has this truck. hes wanting 2 tens

trying to talk him into getting a set of 8's instead as the 2 tens after displacement in a prefab built eclosure for his truck would not be sufficient.

he is also trying to talk me into having him get a bass tube (bazooka) which im trying to talk him out of.

either way options??

i was thinking of telling him to get some sundpwn sa 8's or soething like that. that way the enclosure made to fit under the rear seats will have enough airspace in the box after displacement.

I generally try and talk people out of doing this type of under the seat type build no matter what the setup. Its rarely very loud or sounds good. Install is very important on this type of build and the box needs to be perfect. Its can end up being pretty costly and often times that person decides to go a different route after ending up wasting a good amount of money. Try to talk him into doing a single sub build dividing the back seat in half. Kinda like a sub box arm rest type deal. I did this in my f250 and it was pretty nice.. Either that or maybe doing a really nice front stage where there wont be any earth shaking bass but it will sound amazing.. Install on that is more complicated and doing it roght is a must. But if he is dead set on doing a under the seat build or bass cannon then just sit back watch. Maybe he will get kucky

yea but my one buddy had a pioneer premier 800 wat sub in a box behind his seats in a ram 1500 no back seats and it was pretty nice sounding.

i think if he gets a 8 inch sub and gets a box built that provides enough airspace and able to be ported as well i think it would sound okay. he doesnt have split back seats ( bench ) and each side fold up.

plus threy sell seat lift kits up to 2 1/5 inches so he could gain some airspace in a bigger custom box as well.

My back seat in my f250 is a bench 2. A decent single 12 in between the back seat will be much much better.. And if ur gonna use a seat lift kit. Then might as well roll 2 10s. 8 inch subs dont make a whole lot of sense in most builds.

his back seat is a split bench. but it goes the whole way across the back

he is still deciding. i told him to hit up a box builder i gave him a reference to see what his prices were because he told me finish line in parma would do 2 10's installed for 800. so basically they were going to bend him over and ass fuck him.

i said $200 - $250 would be the most i would thihnk it would cost to make a box and i told him id put everything in for free.
