she has a 1997 (maybe 1998) chevy blazer, cd player wont work. So I want to buy her a new one. I know NOTHING about car audio.

Any tips would be wonderful. Will anything fit? Are they hard to change?

Thanks :)

First find out if u have a double or single DIN. Double DINs are the ones with the touch screens/cassette players/fm etc., single are just the cd player itself. If im not mistaken i think the blazer comes double din stock. Luckily chevys are easy to work on so you can change it yourself if you want to impress her, easy youtube search.

Crutchfield.com. type in her make model and 6ear car and it will pull up a list if cd players/head units that should fit her ride.

Keep in mind you'll need a wiring harness. Probably $50

So buying this $30 kenwood head unit cd player off craigslist, bad idea? he says he'll install it and ensure it works for an extra $20

Seeings how your not going for anything fancy. Juat go to Walmart and buy a headunit dashkit and wire harness.. No issues with that. Ez to install. Pretty much idiot proof

This is what I got my girl. She loves it, nothing fancy. BUt better than what it came with.

I on the other hand need the biggest, baddest stereo with a 15band eq etc etc.

But she would be happy with this most likely

http://tinyurl.com/pbrly8h comes with blue tooth, changeable colors, USB, Pandora integrate, remote control...

and if it is a 1997... http://tinyurl.com/plntpsn (This is the installation gear required for it)

She will be happy

Lol for people to buy the biggest baddest decks cracks me up.. 9 times out of 10 they buy it then don't even use it right. If your not going to use components and amps and run active then walmart has whatever you need.. Drives me crazy seeing people with good equipment useing coaxial 3 way speakers.. Not saying thats you but i find it funny
