The system will be in a 2001 Honda Civic LX. I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible, preferably around $400 max. I'm mainly looking for all around good sounding music. I prefer to not use too much trunk space as I am currently attending college and need the space for hauling stuff back and forth from home. I listen to all kinds of music, but more punk rock than anything.

I received a pair of speakers for the rear deck, an amp, and a sub for free, so I'd prefer not to buy anything here but if anything is inadequate please let me know. I'll list links to them here..

I've been looking into component speakers for the front doors. I just randomly picked 4 sets based on the price, any feedback or recommendations on these would be appreciated as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Wiring advice would be helpful too, like if I should only power the sub with the amp or if I'd be able to power other speakers as well or using the outputs from the head unit to get more power to the other speakers. If your going to run component speakers and want them to sound good then you will have to focus on your install. You cant just slap them in there. You need sound deadner at the very least. That 4 channel amp you have will power a component set nicely. Then you would still need a amp for your sub. As far as the head unit goes buy one with 3 sets of rcas. The higher voltage the better. Also qith the component set you wouldn't need the rear speakers at all if you do a proper instal. So u cqn sell those to add more money for your install .

Is there anything besides the sound deadener you would suggest for the install of the component speakers?
And what exactly do I plug into the rcas on the head unit?

The headunit will have front rear and sub channel rcas. Use rca cables to hook em to the amp. Skyhigh car audio or soundqubed deadner is good. Just Google either. Also watch a how to instal video on the deadner. I would also recommend getting some mdf baffles for the compset. You can buy tbose on amazon as well
