So yea, basically i'm just starting a system for a 2001 ford escape

I'm upgrading the alternator to a 380 amp alternator (220 amp's at idle) and an XS battery (need advice picking wich one)

The Alternator i'm getting from Singer for $750 and is badass at roughly 3.1k watts at idle and 5.2k watts when revving engine.

My plan is to get a nice XS battery and need help picking wich one was planning on going with the 4800... think that's suffecient? will it fit in my truck lol?

i already found the alternator that fits so i'm gucci there =P and already got a man ready to install it ;)

anyways

Box is built to 6 cubic feet inside and i tried to take account for displacement and everything... it is double baffled so the subwoofer is sunk in... and fiberglassed on the inside to get all the corners ect...

and the radio will be a Kenwood DNX 6.1 inch screen with Navigation with 3 rca outputs =P might put a backup camera later on

here is pic

So yea Here is Breakdown of System

380 Amp Alternator (220 Amp idle) - $750
XS 4800 battery - $300
18" DC level 6 subwoofer - $800
3.5k DC amplifier vs Sundown Audio 3k Amplifier - $800-1000
DNX Kenwood Radio (GPS) - $300
Wire - $100
Install - $200 (Cheap as hell lol)
Box - Already made

Think that's everything =P

Going to be Awesome, will be finished in prolly like 2 months, just doing the Alternator and Electrical by the end of April, prolly a radio by then as well

the subs and amp will be last, gotta get the vehicle ready first =P

Honestly if its finished in July i'll be happy lol I want it done right

this is only the start but the box is complete already

Ugh...

If i had enough space to fit the port back, trust me i would of ...

Port's need to "Breath" and when i had the box where i have it placed in the picture the port is literally 1" or less from the door panel

so obviously i designed the box to be able to be placed in one then more position.... so i faced it up at the ceiling for the port to breath

I also recently built a false floor (i'll update pics later) and i have it sitting upright with the bolts sitting flush through the 1.5" wood false floor it rests on perfectly flat

--------------------------------------

Side Note -

I decided i'm not going to bump the 18" subwoofer for a while (even tho i have a box ready and its only $800 for the sub i want)

I just purchased a Sundown SAZ3000 monoblock for $550 wich is a steal of a deal considering they worth about $750

and since i don't have the electrical to power my 3000 watt monoblock i'm going to power it at 2ohm wich is 1/2 of what the power its capable of because it is designed for 1 ohm and i plan on pushing only 1500 watts to keep my electrical okay

and if i'm only going to push 1500 watts my plan is to buy 2x Alpine Type R's 12" (the new ones with little r)

Once i buy the type R's and i'm powering them at 1500 RMS i only paid $850 for my whole system and i have a badass amp i can wire to 1 ohm when i upgrade the electrical and buy my 18" subwoofer

since its like $750 for an amp and $800 for the subwoofer and $375 in batteries just to push an extra 2000 watts more then the 1500 the car can originally handle i'm going to wait and just push 1500 for a while instead of 3500+ watts when i'm finished

will be complete by about June or July with the 18" box in the back at 1 ohm

until then its 2 alpine type R's at 2 ohm for the next 2-3 months =P

Peace Bro's... Will update pics of my Amp once it comes in mail... thing is a beast i'm still going to build an Amp Rack for it
