I have one very similar to this. It fits under my extended cab seats and it has 2x 12 holes on each side.

I want to know if the box will have enough air inside of it to fit the two subs inside and have no problems. I am curious if I can only put shallow subs inside of my box?

that box isn't deep enough to even put the subs into it.

on sonics site you go to the features&specs tab and scroll down and it tells you how deep it mounts and how much air it requires for both sealed and ported boxes.

yes that box has enough air...no you can't use those subs.

if its practically the same box then no you aren't restricted to shallow subs. 6.5 inch deep is full size for many subwoofer models and that box will barely let you do it but it will let you do it.

the air space is the real restriction here but it's not a brickwall.

Do shallow and regular subs sound completely different?

they generally don't get as low, arent nearly as powerful, and have much less movement than a full size one.

they can sound okay but due to their moving structures being much smaller they simply can't compete with the output of a full size subwoofer.

you can go shallows and probably be satisfied but if you have the space there is zero reason to do so.

you have your current box in the truck atm? if not put it in and take a pic of the gap between the mounting part of the box and the bottom of the seat.

if there is room and you are handy with tools you can add a second face to mounting area to give the box more mounting depth to fit those subs.

if not then you are stuck.

SO cut out the top? Wouldn't that make it sound bad?

i meant adding a second layer to top. yes you could cut the first layer out more to give you some more internal airspace but no i'm not talking about completely rebuilding the top side of the box.

those subs are less than .5 inches from fitting so if you added a .5 inch wide mdf face onto each side you could then mount those subs in that box, but if the top of the box is already super close then the subwoofer itself would hit the seat which is bad.

how many inches from floor 2 seats?

I have to check when my dad gets back from work he took it up there and I'm only a highschooler so he's using it
