Hello there, thanks in advance for reading.

I have a 1996 Chevy Cavalier - 2 door car
Been looking online I guess the sizes are
4x6 for the front doors x2
6x9 for the rear end x 2

I want to buy speakers from walmart.com because I get a 10% discount and free shipping online because I work there.
Will also buy/get from newegg.com

My main Question is.
Whats the difference between 6.5" vs 6 1/2 , is that the same thing?
Also assuming I get Either 1 of those, would it fit a 4x6 and 6x9 ?
after looking up the 6.5 and 6 1/2 sizes online, it looks like its a univeral size and can fit anything...

Random interested Question
Sony , Bose (not boss ) , or what brand should I get?
* note * I plan to use orriginal speaker wire, because Im not sure how to take the dashboard apart and get the wire to travel from dashboard to the black tube, to the door.
so Coaxial is out of the question?

I didn't have too much trouble hooking up the harness , How much trouble is it to hook up an amp? and is it worth the trouble?
also someone told me I should get subwoofers... My trunk latch is broken so it don't work, so she says I should get subs inside the trunk behind the rear seats... lol
lots of rooom :)

Need pictures of anything? let me know.

6.5 and 6 1/2 are the same

get bose

not sure if a 6.5 will fit a 4x6... if it doesn't, you can always cut the opening

no 6.5s won't fit the 4x6 position...think about it for a sec and you'll realize its only a 4 inch tall hole for a 6 inch speaker.

you'll need an adapter plate to make it fit the 6x9 slots. you can use adapters on 4x6 slots for 4 inch round speakers as well.

as stealth said you can modify the hole in which case i'd say just grab 2 sets of 6x9 adapter plates so you can be sure you'll have a mounting spot even if you mess up. this is like $10 per set http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3689_Metra-82-6901.html

as for speakers if you want to go full 6.5s http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_76461_Kenwood-KFC-1665S.html are fine and cheap.
