that sony head unit is an okay deal, the alpine however is not. if you don't want touch screen but double din then http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_91058_Pioneer-FH-X820BS.html is a better choice.

antenna adapter is for a chrysler not a ford btw. and yeah you need an adapter if you want to keep using regular radio sometimes.

Thanks I got in touch with someone at crutchfield.ca. Finally will be going with a Pioneer FH-X721BT for 170$ including the dash module + 30$ for the wire harness

before you pull the trigger keep in mind they are LED heavy so brightness may be an issue at night.

yes I have read some reviews and this came up the most. but some people posting work around in the settings to dim it down to a comfortable level
