Even on full blast it comes out real quiet.
Sometimes if I go over a railroad track or big bump the CD player will get loud for like 1/4 second and then fade back out.
Is there a loose wire somewhere that I can firmly replace? Or is my factory cd player kaput?

most likely some sort of failure in the internals.

so i'd have to take it to someone?
i was hoping you would say "look where the wiring is (i dont know where that stuff is located) it's right here by the way usually and make sure all the cords are plugged in well!"

in factory stuff you hardly ever see a wiring issue, but it's common to see the radio itself give out.

if it was a wiring issue i'd expect the radio and cd would have the same problems with diminished output which means its a problem specific to the cd player part.

is there anything I could try looking at myself if I found the cd player wiring? it is all factory
google me up some diagrams because i don't know where that stuff is at

the wiring pertains to every aspect of the cd player. its speaker wires, power wires, memory wire,amp wire if it has a factory amp.

if any of those wires have a problem its going to be a problem for every audio output not just cd output.

gotta take the head unit out to check both the wiring or the head unit itself so thats where you start.
