my phone's speaker was too weak for me to hear my audio books when i turned on the kitchen faucet. so i went to best buy looking for speakers to put in my kitchen. dude told me i could spend 300$ on speakers that i MIGHT hear over the dishwasher or i could spend 70$ on a guitar amp and my neighbors can hear my books over their dishwasher. he recommended this one which i bought:

http://www.amazon.com/Marshall-MG10CF-Series-10-Watt-Guitar/dp/B005ODB1YM

it works great, and i'm thinking about getting one for the bathroom so i can hear it in the shower. i listen to very little music, and i know nothing about amps/speakers. i see this one is listed as 10 watts. would a 10 watt speaker be just as loud? i'm not clear on the "amplification" details, and i dont see any numbers on it to enlighten me.

So you are asking if 10 watts ran to any ol speaker will be as loud as that 10 watt setup?

yes and no.

10 watts is 10 watts when it comes to the amp.

the speaker on the other hand could be better or worse with the same power depending on its design.
